The Necessary Bread of Life

Jesus Christ again declared His identity as the bread of life. Pastor Linehan delineates the similarities and contrasts between the manna of Moses' day and the true bread from heaven, our Lord, Jesus Christ. Though Jesus is similar to the manna, He fulfills the Old Testament type and surpasses what it signified.

Along with our Lord's pronouncement of His identity as the bread of life, Jesus also proclaims a great requirement to eat that bread. No one can have eternal life without personally and actively taking in the bread of life through faith and surrender to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Along with the requirement to eat that bread, our Lord issues a great encouragement to all who would come to Him. He says, "I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever."

Only Jesus can satisfy our souls and give us the gift of eternal life.
