Gratitude - The Spur to Faithfulness

The writer concluded his instruction in chaps. 11-12 with an exhortation/warning that echoes what he's already put before his readers. They must persevere in their faith and guard against letting their adversity turn their minds and hearts away from their Lord. He who was testifying to them through the exalted, reigning Messiah was the One who promised to purge and renew all things. Far from being afraid or resentful, they should be ever grateful, knowing that their God is a consuming fire.
