In Acts 4:1-31, Peter and John are on trial because of the preaching that Jesus has been raised. After they are questioned, Peter defends the truth with boldness drawing from the Old Testament to show that Jesus is the cornerstone that the Sanhedrin rejected. The two apostles are released with a warning and return to their companions where they pray for boldness in the face of persecution.
