The Glorious Attitude
81 ( 77 | 4 )
As Christians, we’re always looking ahead to our homecoming. We long for – and live toward – that glad day when Jesus calls us to our heavenly home. The Apostle Paul wanted the Philippians to follow his example of forgetting the past, and fully embracing God’s sanctifying work in his life. “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14 (ESV) For the believer, heaven is assured. We press on, not toward heaven, but toward our sanctification. As we live by faith, follow God’s Word, and trust Jesus through life’s trials, we become the reflections of Jesus that God intends for us to be. And we’ll be rewarded for a life of faithfulness to God.
