Gifts of Miracles and Healing:
- These gifts are the ability to heal certain diseases and to perform different types of miracles
· All healings are miracles but not all miracles are healings. - The purpose of these gifts was, by in large, to authenticate the preaching and teaching ministries of Jesus and the apostles. (Heb. 2:3–4)
· Jesus’ Ministry (John 20:30-31 | Matt. 9:35 | Acts 2:22 | Is. 35:5-6 [fulfilled -> Matt. 11:1-6 | Luke 7:19-30] |
· The Apostle’s Ministry (2 Cor. 12:12 | Acts 14:3) - Healings in the Bible are always 100% effective, complete, and immediate (Matt. 9:35 | Mark 6:56 | Acts 3:6-10; 4:29-31; 5:14-16; 14:8-10, 19-20; 19:11-12; 20:9-12)
· There are three healings where there was a time delay but the delay only involved minutes and no longer. Also the men involved received total healing (Mark 8:22-26 | Luke 17:11-19 | John 9:1-7)
· The healings were undeniable (Mark 1:45; 2:12; 3:5-6; 5:20 | Acts 2:43; 4:15-17; 9:42)
· Others who could heal/perform miracles (Luke 10:7-9 | Acts 8:6 | Gal. 3:5) - Other Miracles:
· Water into wine (John 2:1-11)
· Coin in a fish’s mouth in to pay the tax for Capernium (Matt. 17:27)
· Peter raised Dorcas from the dead (Acts 9:36-43) and Paul raises Eutychus (Acts 20:9-12)
· Paul strikes a man with blindness (Acts 13:11)
· Divine execution of Ananias and Saphairah at the hands of the apostle Peter (Acts 5:1-11)
· Paul gets bitten by a poisonous snake and lives (Acts 28:3-6)
· Casting out demons (Luke 4:36; 9:1-2)
