The healed blind man and his rejection by the Jewish leaders sets the stage for Jesus'exposition of himself as the true Shepherd who calls his own sheep and lays down his life for them. They recognize his voice and follow him even as the healed man believed and worshipped the Son of Man, the Good Shepherd.
