The Lord Is Not A God Of Damage Control

1,795

This is verse-by-verse (expository) preaching of Rev. 5.

...The book, this scroll, is written on the front and on the back. God has filled every space for what He has ordained will come to pass for all creation for all time and beyond time into eternity. There is no room to add anything, which would be adding to God's revelation and is condemned in Scripture. If there were blank spaces in the book of God's will, it would mean He wanted to leave room to add later, He would need some blank space to add things He hadn't thought of in case man or Satan did something He needed to deal with. But He is not a god of damage control.

If man can surprise God, then man is God.

...Only Christ is worthy to open the book of God's secret will because He perfectly obeyed God's law-word. Ask some people who is the most holy person to have ever lived. Some will say
Mary, the mother of Jesus, others Billy Graham, Mother Teresa, Pope John Paul II, or Mohammed or others. But this one verse tells us they are all sinners.

...God is in charge. He works everything together for the good of His elect (Rom. 8:28). Nothing happens to the world or to us that is not His will.
