Redemption Through His Blood

The price of our redemption was shed shedding of Christ's blood. The Greek word for redemption here means to be set free or released. The sinner is regarded as being enslaved. Christ, by the shedding of His blood has purchased His elect people from the slave market of sin, which afterwards is applied by the Holy Spirit, releasing them from bondage. He whom the son sets free is free indeed.
