Good Teacher, What shall I Do?

This is no doubt one of the most amazing incidents that has been recorded for us in the gospels. It is amazing because of the way the way that this rich young ruler came to the Lord Jesus with the question that he did; it is amazing because of the way that Jesus answered his question; and it is amazing because this man who came to Jesus so confidently and joyfully, ended up leaving in such sorrow, when he could have become eternally rich. This is the issue which I need to speak to you about this morning; the subject of what worldly riches will do to you, if you let them. They will deceive you and you will lose your soul. You will never really come to follow Jesus Christ; you will never inherit eternal life. The only remedy for the love of money is to come to see, and to know, and to have the eternal riches which can only come to a person through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
