Preaching The Word In A Pagan World

For a missionary and itinerant preacher like Paul, two years ministry in one place was a long time. But then Ephesus was no ordinary place! A prosperous city with an estimated 250,000 inhabitants, Ephesus was the centre of goddess worship.

The manner in which the apostle went about the challenge of proclaiming the gospel in the centre of the devil's territory is a stirring example to each of us as we hold up the torch of truth in this age. It encourages us to look for a similiar display of God's power as we preach the Word in a pagan world.
