263) Does Prayer Change God's Mind? - James 5:17-18

Is it possible to believe in predestination and the sovereignty of God and also believe that prayer changes things? If God already knows what he's going to do, does prayer change his mind? Or do we only pray to align ourselves with what he's already decided so that our prayers don't really have an effect on outcomes? What exactly does prayer accomplish?
