You Lord, Are a Shield for Me

David is feeling deep anguish as a result of Absalom's rebellion. He is fleeing for his life. His enemies were saying that he was undone. There was no help for him in God. But David looks to Yahweh. He knew that he was under God's discipline. But he confesses that God is the lifter up of his head, and his glory. David has an accessible Lord and so do we. We have an amazing God, high above the heavens. He condescended to hear David and answered him. When your mind is stayed upon your covenant keeping God, you will find the same kind of help from God.
