A. To Stir Up Pure Minds – unadulterated by false teaching

II. Scoffers Will Come – vs. 3-4 – expect it, be encouraged by it
A. Mockers – to ridicule God’s Word and Ways – who could believe that? – Matt. 20:18-19; 27:29, 41-42; Jude 18
B. Walking According to Lust – 2:14, 18
C. Questioning the Promises – Gen. 3:1; Heb. 11:13; 2 Peter 1:3-4

III. Willful Ignorance – vs. 5-7 – they forget/deny the power of God
A. Ignorance – to escape notice, to be hidden, to be blind to what has happened – Rom. 1:18-23, 28; Rom. 11:7-8
B. God Created – out of nothing by the power of His Word – Gen. 1:1-3; Rev. 4:11
C. God Destroyed – Luke 17:26-29; Gen. 6:7
D. God Preserves the World for Judgment – He will destroy again!
