-The Christian has a natural gravity (seriousness)
-There is natural and also prescribed sadness for the believer
-This is good sadness
-Grieving is not wrong but hopeless sorrow is wrong
-The Lord Jesus Christ (Man of sorrows)

Depression for the puritans was

1 Persistent
2 Immoderate
3 Paralyzing
4 Destructive
5 Self depreciating

6 How did the puritans judge that
-With a Biblical attitude
-Depression is wrong and self inflicted
-Depression is sinful
-You as a believer are claiming by your depression that you are not happy with the bread of life
