The Christian's Great Expectation
The personal faith of the Christians at Thessalonica was made famous. All across the region (and beyond) people were talking about how God transformed them via his Word.
What was this famous faith characterized by? And what was it's foundation?
In the final verse of chapter one, Paul answers both of those questions in the following ways:
By defining the character of the Christian Life in terms related to Christ’s Return - Christian Living is a life of waiting for God’s Son from Heaven. Living life with an eternal perspective.
And by showing that their faith was founded upon the Person and Work of Christ - Christ's Deity, Christ's Humanity, Christ's Death and Resurrection, Christ's Ascension and Christ's Return.
This is the type of faith that transforms. This is the type of faith that was made famous.
