Beyond Modesty - Part 2
Beyond Modesty – New Testament
Romans 4:5-8, Isaiah 61:10-11, Ps 132:9
Throughout our studies in Romans, we have been examining Paul's delight in justification by
faith which is the imputation of Christ's righteousness upon the believer. Justification is a judicial
act whereby God declares the sinner righteous, covers his sin and shame and nakedness
through the substitutionary atonement of Christ. In this context we are looking at a biblical
theology of clothing. In the Bible clothing is a metaphor for justification by faith, and the robes of
righteousness, with which the Lord clothes the believer.
