Jesus Died for His People

Scriptures teach us that the Lord Jesus died in the place of His people the Elect.

He saved us by taking our sins upon Himself as if they were His Own, and then being treated as guilty by God and judged in our place on the cross.

Because Jesus did that for us, there are no sins left to judge in us! Justice has been satisfied and our debt discharged forever.

If Jesus took away your sin and was punished for it, then you must surely go free!

What great comfort that is!

Paul exclaimed, "Who can condemn us? It is Christ that died!"

The problem that this doctrine exposes is this: unless you believe that all men are saved, then Jesus didn't die for all men, but only those who trust in Him.

This doctrine of "particular redemption" makes many folks angry.

On top of which, we cannot believe unless the Holy Ghost has made us alive who were dead, and granted us repentance and faith to believe.

He converts our cold dead hearts into warm fleshy hearts, and then we love Him, because He first loved us.

Jesus taught against universal salvation, because He preached the doctrine of Hell and everlasting judgment. The rich man Dives surely opened his eyes in Hell, and Father Abraham made it clear that there was no relief for Dives ever.

All through His ministry, Jesus focused on saving His people, whom God the Father had given to Him. Christ's saving work was focused only on the elect people of God.

Jesus said He gave His life a ransom "for many," and not for all.

Jesus taught that only those given to Him by the Father would come to Him, and they would ALL surely come to Him, because the Father would draw them, and only them, unto Christ.
