The Sovereignty of God in Creation and Providence

The God of the Bible is a God of absolute sovereignty. He works and accomplishes all things according to the counsel of His own will. His sovereignty is manifested in creation, providence, and in the salvation of sinners. He needs not the counsel or permission of His creatures to act. "What He desires, that He does" (Job 23:13). He is free. Satan is not in control. Man is not in control. Chance and coincidence are not in control. Scripture declares with astounding clarity that God is in control. Nothing happens except through Him and by His holy and perfect will. "Our God is in the heavens; He does all that He pleases" (Psalm 115:3). All hail the King on His throne!
