A Fixed-Point & Finishing Well

On the first half of the program today, I will speak with Larry Taunton - founder and Executive Director of Fixed Point Foundation. Fixed Point Foundation is committed to promoting a confident Christianity in the public square, fortifying the minds of Christians and challenging the faith of skeptics. They do so in a number of ways, including their website (www.fixed-point.org), Latimer House Luncheons and by hosting some high-profile debates. Fixed-point recently produced a commercial that they wanted to run during this year's Super Bowl, however, FoxSports rejected the commercial saying it contained 'religious doctrine'. Actually, the commercial only mentions the text John 3:16 and then encourages people to 'look it up'. You can view the proposed commercial for yourself at the Fixed-Point website.

On the second half of the program tomorrow, I will speak with Dr. John Dunlop about his book entitled 'Finishing Well to the Glory of God: Strategies from a Christian Physician'.
Most people want to finish life well, yet so few take the time necessary to carefully think through what that entails. Some say it means contentment, happiness, and freedom from pain. Many desire to simply maintain their dignity and enjoy their family and loved ones. These are reasonable goals; yet, there is a more profound, uniquely Christian approach to the end of life.

John Dunlop, a medical doctor who has practiced for over thirty years and specializes in geriatrics, combines his medical expertise, firsthand experience with patients, and firm commitment to Scripture to propose nine strategies for finishing life well.
