Background of Habakkuk

As the years come and go, as we become quite familiar with the routine of the Christian life, as we live amidst a relentlessly enticing and busy world which can preoccupy one's mind and affections and as we grow tired due to the decay of the outer man, it is easy to lapse into a dull, complacent and heartless externalism. We can become content to just go through familiar Christian motions. Our prayer should be Habakkuk's: 'O Lord, revive Thy work in the midst of the years.' (Habakkuk 3:2) This message addresses such background concerns as the author, date, historical circumstances and notable portions of Habakkuk.
