The Obedience of Faith

At this point in his letter to the Romans, Paul is concerned in chapters 9-11 to explain the widespread unbelief of the Israelites in the light of their very many and very great spiritual privileges. In doing that, however, Paul provides an explanation of the root causes of unbelief in all people of all times. The message we proclaim to the nations is one of free grace and full redemption. It is indeed good news! It is wonderful news! Why, then, aren't people responding to our message in droves? Why don't people readily "accept" (NIV) or "obey" the gospel?
