An Unlikely Hero

Gideon was not looking for the job to be the leader of Israel. Gideon was trying to stay out of sight and not get attention. However, he and the Israelites had to hide because they stood against God. Instead of worshiping the God who is God they ended up worshiping something else. The ashram pole as about sex and baal worship was about self mutilation. When the Israelites were so miserable, they called out to God and He sent a prophet who told them to repent. When God sent the prophet, he told them the history, that God has a relationship with the people, but they would not listen. Gideon knew who God was, but he is shocked that God would recognize him. Sometimes God's word goes against what we feel. Sometimes people ask God questions that He as already answered. We should look into the Bible, God never lies. Gideon had strength, not because he thought he did but because God was sending him. God will always provide everything you need in order to do His will. When God is with us, we will be taken care of. If you know God, you do not need to be afraid of anything else.The power of our strength or our military, is nothing compared to the power of God. God chose the death of Jesus to rescue us. God provided Jesus with what He needed in order to do His will. God choses to work through people.
