Worship - Its Components Pt 6 [Supplication in Prayer]

We have the example of Paul praying for the Church in Colossians ch 1. He is writing to the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse. He informs them that he is praying always for them, v3. Furthermore he states that he does not cease to pray for them, v9. It was not an one off but continual.

You will find similar comments at the beginning of a number of Paul's epistles. For example: [1] Rom 1:8-10; [2] Phil 1:3,4; [3] 1 Thess 1:2. To four of the churches to whom he writes he emphasises this point. It must be worth noting!

Praying for the Church of Jesus Christ is a vitally important aspect of prayer in general and also of prayer as an integral part of worship.

We can pray for a number of specific things with regards to the Church of Christ:

1. The Personnel of the Church
2. The Spiritual Prosperity of the Church
3. The Preservation of the Church
4. The Persecuted Church
