The Ways of God

Jesus begins to reveal more and more of the plan for His death, burial, and resurrection. He lets His disciples in on what's going to happen.

  1. God Has His Timetable. (16:21a)
    A. Previously, He only alludes to what's ahead.
    B. Now, He openly makes known what's ahead.
  2. God Has His Plan. (16:21b)
    A. He must go to Jerusalem.
    B. He must suffer many things.
    C. He must be killed.
    D. He must be raised the third day.
  3. God Has His Resistance. (16:22-23)
    A. At times, those close to Him resist His plan.
    B. Satan always resists God's plan.

God's ways are not like our ways. Even though we usually have our own plans, God wants us to line up with His plan. Even when we do not understand His ways, we are called to trust. Our role is not to question or resist, but to rest in Him.
