Arrogant Judging and Presumptuous Planning

397

"I don't know why Jim acts that way!" "That Roger gets on my nerves!"
"Boy, Rick and Nicole clearly don't have their kids under control, and I hear they want more!" "Sometimes Sharon's 'know-it-all' attitude really gets under my skin." "Did you see Ellen raising her hands in worship, she really thrives on attention!" When we speak evil of one another, we are, in effect, placing ourselves in the position of a judge, when in fact, our position is the same as that of the believer we are judging, that is---we are servants...fellow-servants. What did James mean when he said that he who speaks evil of his brother, and judges his brother, is speaking evil of the law, and judging the law? This sermon deals with judging, as well as presumptuous planning, and it ends with a call to unbelievers to beware of the most arrogant behavior of all, thinking that God's call to repentance and faith applies to all but them. This message, preached through sickness, seemed to have God's anointing upon it.
