Obstacles to Good Hermeneutics

In this first class on hermeneutics, we consider some of the challenges or obstacles to good hermeneutics. These are the things we need to be aware of which hinder a proper understanding of the scriptures. These include ignorance of the Bible, a relativisitc worldview, cultural values and influences, the hostility of natural man to the Word of God and the traditions of men. All these things must be guarded against if we are to have a right understanding of God's Word.
