Proverbs on the Future

You have a Future!
Wait for it!
Work for it!

You have a future, a good and rosy future. But you have to wait for it–wait for the time appointed by God. And you have to work while you wait. And this work, for which God equips you with everything you need, is paying work. You will receive full payment in heaven, and payment may start in this life as well. You are not saved by your good works, but you are rewarded by it.

Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ: Rejoice! You have a future, one that is wrapped up and tied up with Jesus. You were in him when he died on the cross, you were in him when he was put in the grave and arose. He is present in you by his Holy Spirit today and is preparing a place in heaven for you.

So wait for it. Don’t get impatient and complain when things don’t go your way and when you don’t get the things of this world that you desire.

And then work. Work with his assistance and assurance that you are saving up for your future. Worship the Lord. Work for his kingdom. Save up for the future with wealth that truly matters.
