Nearness, Purity, Security

God did not only give us heaven so that we would be eternally satisfied. He also gave us visions of heaven so that we would know how to live on earth, "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness..." (Matt 6:33), "you kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matt 6:10). In revelation 21:25-27, we find God's desires for us. God's desires for us are captured in the metaphors for nearness, purity and security.
