Mary Not Queen of Heaven

72
  1. The Son of God's use of "Woman" dispels the teaching that Mary holds an exalted position over her son in the flesh. This shows that Jesus is not on earth (or later in Heaven) to grant Mary's desires. He was subject to his parents as a child but no longer as an adult. He is the Son of God, the Lamb God and the Saviour of the world. This passage helps to establish the due order.
  2. The day of the miracle: a dispensational picture
    a. A thousand years as a day
    b. The first four days (LOOK: John 1:19-28, 29-34, 35-42, 43-51)
    c. The last three days (LOOK: John 2:1; Hosea 6:1-3)
    d. The events of the seventh day (matching the thousand-year reign – Revelation 20:4-6)
    (1) Jesus attends a marriage feast (John 2:1-2; Revelation 19:1-9).
    • Jesus hour had not yet come
The hour had not yet come when Jesus would be subject to the will of man. He came to do His Father's will. Jesus would later be subject unto the will of man.
Jesus speaks of the "the hour" in John 4:21, 7:30, 8:20, 12:23, 12:27, 13:1, 17:1. This is not the hour; it is the start and not the close. The hour speaks of His death.
