True Treasure for 2019

We need to resolve in 2019 not to use the Lord to supply what truly makes us happy and contented, but to make the Lord Himself our true joy and treasure.
Two kinds of Christians miss the mark. Those who rely on the Lord to supply the things they need to make them happy are using the Lord. The Lord is a divine vending machine to supply what the person really wants and needs to be happy. These are consumer Christians.
Then there are the servant Christians who want to fulfill the mission God has set before them. They often fail because they see their value and relationship to the Lord in the success of their performance. They are not like Paul, the greatest missionary, whose contentment was not in the success of his mission, but in his knowing Christ and being found in Him.
