Importance of a Good Reputation (2)

Today, we continue with the theme of having a good reputation so that the world will have nothing bad to say about us, and so that we will honor God and adorn the doctrine of God in scripture with a godly conduct. Last week, we considered how to adorn the doctrine of God with pure speech. Today, we consider pure conduct. We consider this in the various areas of our lives: work, marriage, parenting, submission to governing authorities, sexual conduct, finances, etc. In all of these areas, we either adorn the doctrine of God or else we give the enemy occasion to reproach.
