Take a Deep Breath

In this Psalm King David wants to help the old testament church prepare for worship in Jerusalem. The Psalms are the words of Christ before Christ. In the Garden of Gathsemene Christ made the trip to worship in Jerusalem for the last time. This is a psalm of cosmic submission by Christ himself to his father. For all who believe in Jesus this is a Psalm of salvation. The only begotten son took on another will apart from his father to be a brother to all of us. Jesus was to take on the infinite condemnation of billions throughout the ages and yet still found hoped in Yahwey. Because this was a psalm of cosmic submission, this was a psalm of our salvation in Christ. So we can take a deep breath in the Hope that God gives us through his son’s humility.
