Rethinking The Rapture

Earlier this week, "Left Behind" the apocolyptic, action thriller staring Nicolas Cage, was released on DVD. It is a rapture themed movie based on the NYT best-selling "Left Behind" book series - which has now been published in 32 different languages, with more than 65 million copies sold- making it one of the best-selling fiction series of all times.

The popularity of this series is not in doubt, what is in doubt however is the accuracy of what is presented as Bible Prophecy. What is presented is a Pretribulation Premillenial position of the "rapture". That Christ will come back to remove all true believers from the earth prior to the Great Tribulation (a period of intense affliction and persecution). But can this view be supported by Biblical texts? And does the Bible really teach that there will be a secret rapture of all true believers prior to the Great Tribulation? Do all Premillenialist believe in a secret rapture? Those are a couple of the question that we will discuss on the program today.
