The Wrath of God is Being Revealed From Heaven
Because the wrath of God is revealed from heaven, we must believe the Gospel.
What is happening: The wrath of God is being revealed (18a)
When is it being revealed: present, continuous verb (18a)
Where is it coming from: From heaven—from God Himself (18b)
What is it opposing: All ungodliness & unrighteousness of men (18c)
Why is it being revealed:
We suppress the truth in unrighteousness (18d)
We are without excuse (19-23)
We have continually known about God (19-20)
His eternal power (20)
His divine nature (20)
Although we knew God… (21-22)
We did not honor Him as God (21b)
We did not give thanks to Him (21c)
We became futile in their thinking (21d)
Our foolish heart was darkened (21e)
We became fools (22)
We exchanged the glory of God for idols (23)
Romans 1:18
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven
against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men,
who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
