One Grateful Leper

Of all the vicious sins that men commit against God, perhaps the most notorious one of all may be the sin of thanklessness. The Apostle Paul identifies this sin as the brand of the godless man (cf., Rom. 1: 21). We see in our Bible passage that even when God has been wonderfully merciful in delivering us from great harm, the unloving and unbelieving heart of an unregenerate sinner does not thank Him. Oh, men obey religious ordinances and go through the motions of worshiping God, as our nine lepers demonstrate. But only one leper had a heart to thank Jesus! In this sermon we learn of the centrality of a thankful spirit in the Christian life.
