The God and Father of Us All

This is the first of a series on Knowing God as Father, and on this occasion we aim to see how God is the Father of all men and women, but not all men and women are his children. Acts 17 clearly indicates that the whole of humanity may be understood as God's offspring, but John 1:12 indicates that we are given the right to become children of God through faith in Christ. In short compass, these two (seemingly contradictory) statements take us to two sides of the matter that will occur repeatedly in this series namely: God is Father, and believers are children by adoption in Christ
