GENESIS 7
Summary: We read that at God's command Noah enters the ark, with his family, and the living creatures, and God shuts them safely in. (1-16) Then the great worldwide flood begins after seven days, and increases for forty days (17-20) All land and air creatures are destroyed by it, except those secure in the ark (21-23). The flood lasts for one hundred and fifty days (24).

Devotional: (1) Did Noah go into the Ark before God called him? What does that tell you about God and about Noah? (2) What was the Ark made for? Is there a spiritual Ark in our day? And how does God call us to it? (3) What do you learn from this chapter about salvation, and the fact that God shut them into the Ark? How secure where they? (4) Was the flood local or worldwide? How do you know? (5) Can you think about the terror and the devastation of those who were left outside, and the thankfulness and humility of those who were inside the ark? (6) Have you taken refuge in the spiritual Ark, i.e. the Lord Jesus Christ?
