Forgive Our Sins

33

We've all found that sin can disrupt important relationships. Suppose after a stressful day at work you snap at your spouse who asked an innocent question. From that moment a chill enters the home. Perhaps the discord goes on for hours, though it could be days. During this time nothing goes well. You lose your appetite. You lose interest in other things you usually care about. Even "neutral parties" seem more annoying than before. Everything seems turned upside down.

Then comes that moment when you "break down" and sincerely confess your sin and ask for forgiveness. A huge weight lifts from your soul.

In a similar way sin disrupts our relationship with God. When sin spoils our walk with God it is always our fault, never his. But unlike what sometimes happens in our homes God always desires to pardon those who seek it with sincerity. He wants us to pray penitently.
