My Prayer for 2020

34

Have you made a New Year's prayer request for the coming year? Is there something you would like to see God to do this year? In this sermon I share with the members of EBCC my prayer for the church for the coming year. I've adopted Paul's prayer for the Ephesians as recorded in Ephesians 3:14-21. What I desire for myself and for those listening is that we might experience inner, spiritual strength, that Christ might be at home in every area of our lives, that we might experience Christ's great love in all of its fullness, in all of its dimensions, and that we might experience a deepening spiritual maturity in Christ, being filled with all of His fullness! If this happens, if God answers this prayer, we will have unity in the Church, holiness of life, will be a witness to the world, submission to one another in the various life's relationships, and will stand together against the attacks of the enemy. Is God able to answer such requests? Paul assures us that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ever ask or think! Yes, indeed He can, but it depends upon the 'power that is at work in us'-- depends on us yielding to and depending upon the Spirit of God to produce within us the life of Christ!
