An Uncomfortable Conclusion II
Series Topical Survey of Romans
Thesis: What Christians need to grow in holiness is the very gospel which released us from the curse of the law.
Introduction
The Gospel is free, unmerited and irrevocable Grace
We should not do religious things to feel good, but desire to grow as a Christian.
We are bent over to our selves
Paul affirmed he was the greatest of all sinners
As Paul looked more to Jesus he realize more of his sinfulness
We need to grow in the gospel and the growth comes from God.
- A New Condition: Union with Christ. Romans 6:1-11
Union with Christ: in His death, in His resurrection, is repeated often in the NT
This is our new identity, not our other assoication in life
We have a new power in us-newness of life- sin no longer has power over us.
The Gospel of free, unmerited and irrevocable Grace
In Christ, sin no longer reigns, it has been dethroned by Christ!
Because we are no longer under the guilt and condemnation of the Law (in Christ); therefore, we have the freedom and the power to walk in NEWNESS of life.
