Death Changes Stuff

30

The key to living for what matters is the transfer of kingdom loyalty. I have died to this dying world and my life is hidden with Christ above. When Christ, who is my life, appears - then I will appear with him!

When Christ who is you life appears, then you will also appear with him in glory. As I was thinking about this, it seemed a strange and awkward phrase, until I realized that people say these sorts of things almost all the time.

On some Harley’s you’ll see the words painted: Ride to live, Live to ride. Their glory is a motorcycle.

One of my friends posts nothing but running articles on the internet – indeed, she would say that ‘Running is my life.’ She glories in running.

An Epicurean might say: ‘I live to eat!’ Food is their glory.

What do you live for? What is your glory? If you are a disciple of Jesus this saying is true of you: ‘I live for Christ.’

And this saying is true also: ‘When Christ, who is my life appears, I also will appear with him in glory.’

The world will think this a waste of your life. The devil will tempt you to think it a waste as well. But the longer you walk along this narrow way, the more clearly you will see, that motorcycles, physical beauty and food are temporal and fading – their glory is too small and too fleeting to be your life.
