Parables begin with that which is figurative and explain that which is real. The Lord used many figurative expressions in John; He used no formal parables as for example, the Sower and the Seed in Matthew 13. We do find the allegory in John 15. Through all of this we see the supremacy and sovereignty of the Lord Jesus.
