Reign of the Royal Son

Solomon, the author of this Psalm, wrote in it about a Royal Son whose reign would be marked by righteousness, compassion, perpetuity, peace (the "Shalom" peace of the OT, meaning wholeness or health of mind, soul, & body), and universal authority. Indeed, to the Royal Son worship would be rendered. The preacher is aligned with those who see this as a Messianic Psalm pointing to the future reign of Jesus Christ, in the foretaste of his first advent, and then culminating in his second advent.
