Reliable Witnesses: Testimony to the Current and Future Work of Christ

Luke's Gospel is like a Spirit-inspired investigative report, full of eyewitness testimony and supernatural testimony, as to who Jesus is. We are about a chapter and half into this book and we have already seen the witness of: Luke, Old Testament prophecy, Zacharias, Elizabeth, John the Baptist [even while in his mother's womb], Mary, Gabriel, a host of angels, and shepherds. And, as we'll see [Lord willing], there are plenty more witnesses to come. Well, in today's text we'll see two other witness introduced in Luke's account and we'll see why these witnesses should be understood to be reliable. That is the just the tip of the iceberg as it relates to the Christ exalting truth found in this portion of Scripture.
