164

Our guest for this broadcast is Rev. Seth Starkey, assistant minister at Second Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Greenville, SC. In this broadcast we discuss what ministry life is like, especially for a new minister of the gospel.

Rev. Seth Timmons Starkey (Seth) is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. He attended Greenville High School where he was a three year letterman on the football field for the Red Raiders. Upon high school graduation in 2003, he attended Newberry College graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration in 2007. Sensing a call to ministry, Seth enrolled at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte and began pursuing his Masters of Divinity degree in the fall of 2007, graduating in December 2010.

Seth has been on staff since August 2009. His favorite verse is I John 5:12. His favorite theologians are James Henley Thornwell and Wilhelmus a Brakel. Seth married his wife, Laura Lee, in May of 2009 and they are expecting their first child in August 2012. In addition to his general duties as Assistant Minister here at Second, Seth serves on both the Christian Education and Missions committees of Session. Seth finds great joys in the simple pleasures of life, such as lunch at Carolina Drive-in or Spero’s Pete’s for a chili-cheeseburger and onion rings.
