The wicked person disadvantages others for his own benefit. Yet the lifestyle considered righteous in Proverbs is when a person disadvantages himself for the welfare of others. We shouldn't pursue righteousness simply because God says so. But also because it is beautiful and good and attractive. God's commands are a means of grace for us.
