Seven Imperatives for the New Year

When you consider the Lord's Prayer, for every petition we are to pray, there is an imperative as to how we are to live. As we go through 2019, here are seven imperatives to keep in mind as to how we are to live the Christian life:

1. We are to rejoice in the privilege, unique to Christians, of an intimate relationship with our creator.
2. We must live with a zeal for the honour of His name.
3. We must be zealous for God's kingdom to come.
4. We must live in humble obedience to the revealed will of God.
5. We must live in constant gratitude for, and utter dependence on, all that God provides.
6. We must view repentance as a wheel that must go on being turned every day.
7. We must be committed to mortifying that which is evil in the sight of the God.
