The Shepherds' Response

In this brief two-part series, Pastor Chris Anderson focuses our attention on Luke chapter 2, and shows us the heart of Christianity encapsulated in the account of our Savior's magnificent birth announcement. Here's an excerpt from part 2:

“When we read about the angel's announcement, we recognize that we are reading something exceptional … It was a unique announcement that is recognizing the most unique event in human history. God become flesh.

“But when we read in verses 15-20 about the shepherds' response, we're not reading something exceptional, we're reading something very normal. The way the shepherds responded to the good news that they had heard about Jesus is a tremendous example for us …

“This is normal Christianity.”
