CUT OFF FROM THE LAND OF THE LIVING
TEXT: Isaiah 53:8-10

SUMMARY: As we consider by way of remembrance the reality and the requirement of Jesus' suffering, we can only be amazed at the seriousness of man's sin and the wonder of God's remedy for it.

I. THE REALITY OF HIS SUFFERING, vv. 8-9.
A. He Suffered Oppression, v. 8.
B. He suffered violence, v. 8.
C. He suffered humiliation, v. 9.
D. He Gave up the normal fulfillments of life.

II. THE REQUIREMENT OF HIS SUFFERING, v 10a.
A. The suffering of Christ was decreed in the counsels of God's will.
B. It was God who laid sin upon Him.
C. It was God who offered Himself as a sin offering.
