I. v. 1 – the human author: Paul

a. What do we know about Timothy? 4 weaknesses
1. His youth

 2. His timid nature

     3. His physical weakness

     4. His wrong pedigree

b. But also, faithful service

III. vv. 1& 2 – the enabling of the Triune God
a. Jesus is fully divine

b. bestows grace, mercy, and peace
